No personal data is collected, stored, or processed beyond what is technically necessary.

There are no cookies, no user-level tracking, and no registration.

All inputs in the PV calculator remain local in your browser (sessionStorage). No data is sent to our servers.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you visit our website, the hosting provider automatically collects the following data in server log files:

  • Truncated IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Page accessed
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure provision of the website). Log files are automatically deleted after 14 days.

4. SSL/TLS Encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the lock icon in your browser's address bar and the "https://" prefix.

5. PVGIS API

To calculate solar irradiation, your browser directly calls the PVGIS API of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. Your IP address is transmitted to the EU Commission's server.

6. Website Analytics (Umami)

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly open-source analytics tool, to anonymously evaluate website usage. Umami:

  • does not set any cookies
  • does not store IP addresses
  • does not create user profiles
  • does not collect personal data
  • respects your browser's "Do Not Track" setting

Only anonymous, aggregated data is collected (page views, referrers, browser type, country). No cookie banner is required as no cookies or similar technologies are used.
